The “Jayco Manual Handbook” describes accurately where the various types of vans can and can’t go. In short, “on road” means bitumen only other than 2WD dirt access roads to camping areas in national parks. “Off road” means all dirt roads and especially 4WD tracks labelled “4WD only”. Roads excluded for caravans such as the Tanami Track, Gibb River Road, Canning Stock Route and Sturt Stony Desert areas are not suitable for BBCH Caravans.

Consequential damage caused by poor selection of road and its conditions is to be met entirely by the hirer.
4WD off road and dirt road use is not permitted.
Braking systems & electrical connections
All BBCH vans are fitted with electric brakes. It is the hirer’s responsibility to have an electric brake controller properly fitted to their tow vehicle. BBCH vans are fitted with either a standard seven pin or 12 pin flat plug.
NOTE: Portable electric brake controllers are illegal and considered dangerous their use is not permitted.
12 Volt Auxiliary Power Supply from Tow Vehicle
All BBCH vans have a three way fridge (i.e. 12v, 240v or Gas) and a 12v battery for lighting. IF YOUR TOW VEHICLE IS FITTED WITH AN AUXILIARY POWER SUPPLY, the fridge can be kept cool and the caravan onboard battery topped up while you are travelling.
